Developing for MSN Games

MSN Games hosts more than 13 million players every month, offering them more than 300 free casual single-player and multiplayer games, downloadable games, and premium multiplayer games. Included are titles for all interests, such as word and trivia, puzzlers, action and adventure titles, along with a multitude of card and board games. Our goal is to bring gamers the ultimate online gaming experience, whether playing alone or with friends.

For players, MSN Games is a single destination offering a multitude of choices. For developers, it’s easier to view MSN Games as a collection of services. These services employ different business models, all of which allow for developers to share revenue. The method of engagement and the technical requirements vary by service.

MSN Games works with Oberon Media as the distribution partner for downloadable “try’n’buy” games, as well as free (ad-support) web games. Developers can contact Oberon media at developers@oberon-media.com. Web games must be written with the API detailed in the MSN Games GDK, also available through Oberon, or directly through our developer relations team in some cases.

MSN Games GameSpring subscription service is offered in conjunction with Real Networks. Developers can contact Real Networks here about business and technical requirements for the GameSpring product offering.

Play for Cash games on MSN Games are provided in conjunction with Fun Technologies. Their developer relations team can be reached at info@funtechnologies.com.

Developer inquiries can also be sent to mcg@microsoft.com.
